A proposal... if you may.

I have been thinking about something my dear blogging friends. I have all but abandoned this blog, but I have reason to think it will be revived! In my mind, I have a specific audience in mind and the first three names that pop in my head are ....

Julie, Heidi, and Ann Marie!

You know of my extreme struggles with weight. I know each one of you have your own story too. I know that each one of you want to do something about it, but struggle just as I. I need accountability in a major way, and for a long long time weight watchers did that adequately for me. I no longer find that to be enough. I need more. (I have been saying that a lot lately!)

Here is my idea....

Clean up this blog (or if you truly want to start a new one we can) and close it to authors as readers. Complete confidentiality would be a must. NO exceptions.

We could allow more than the four of us, but I think membership would have to be considered by all current members and not allowed to become too big. (maybe ten - I say this like i think someone may just want to be here without being forced)

Everyone must come clean about their weight. Where they've come from and where they are headed. I think that true honesty about our NUMBER helps us become more than that number. I would actually be honest and admit that I think I have put on almost ten pounds from the lowest I have gotten. UGH. No wonder my pants are tight.

Everyone would commit to try to post daily. We would post what we are eating. We would post our daily and weekly goals. You can use whatever plan you want. If you are counting points, you say you goal and where you are. If you are counting calories, same deal. If you want to post a food journal, that is fine too. It is about being accountability for what you are putting in your mouth. We would post about the exercise we are or are not getting.

We could post about our food demons and lament together. We could celebrate together. We could share the journey together. I have goals in my head that I need to put on paper and be held accountable to.

I want to be twenty pounds thinner this summer. What about you?

I think that is a wonderful idea to hold us accountable. I love it! If you consider me I would love to be part of it.

as would I. I need the accountability. And in the short e mail I sent you, I only have one pound to go before I am at that goal. yay.

Okay, who's Julie? Do I know her? I don't think I do.

Hello, Julie. I'm Ann-Marie.

Argh! Accountability? Really?

Yes, yes...I need it, too! And I've really been looking for an incentive to get back on my beloved South Beach/infertility diet again.

Okay. I'm in, too.

How do you want to go about it? I like your suggestion about creating a new blog.

We could call it Tan-Heid-Jul-rie (or Tan Hide Jewelry?) Okay, so maybe you guys have a better name. (Hopefully, you do, because that's really awful!)

Hi Ann-Marie! I met you at Candice's baby shower. I went to school with Sarah and Candice. And Tancy and I are friends.

I don't know Viv. Which is ok with me, I like to meet new people.

Oh yah, about the name, we do need to come up with a great 1.

And when does this start?? Today?

Ann-Marie said...

Now, I'm embarrassed! Really, we met?

Gosh, and you saw me at my worst - as an emcee at a baby shower - and I was SO obnoxious! (just because it was mostly family)

When did you attend *B*? I thought I knew everybody in Candice's class. I graduated in 1996. Were you there then?

Either way, I'll try to behave better!

a joyful nusiance said...

Don't think a thing about it!! I'm not that memorable. :) And I didn't think that you were obnoxious!

I only went to school my senior year.

Will you be at Sarah's baby shower on Sat??

WE need a aname. JP will build us a cute layout.

VIV is someone I know from WW online.

I think the five of us should do it! When I get back from grocery shopping, I will get working.

Do we want a funny name (Boy am I fat) or a cheesy name (the Accountability Connection).

I vote for something funny. but you know me I would rather joke about my issues than deal with them!

by the way this is Tancy, for some readon I have jp's login up

First Report In - 3/31/08

I haven't excercised yet. I still want to get it in for today.

I have been in the habit at work to eat chips and pop, and sometimes even a candy bar on my break. So today, I took a bag of 94% fat free kettle corn(thank you Tancy) and a water for my snack.

I had a hot dog and chips for my lunch, not very healthy, but it's what we had.

Day 2 April 1st

I didn't excercise yesterday, but I did get up this morning and go to the y to work out.

It feels so good to have this done already for the day.

Ann-Marie said...

Yea, Julie! Way to go!

I also rode my bike for 30 min. this a.m., but then I ate an entire sleeve of Girl Scout Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies, so I'm guessing the calories won that round. I've got to stop skipping breakfast!

a joyful nusiance said...

those are the best cookies!!

I had el burrito loco for lunch with extra sour cream.

I was so exhausted when I got home from work that I took an hour and a half nap! Now I probably won't be able to get up tomorrow!

Ann Do you like riding the stationary bike??
